Is It Possible To Whiten Your False Teeth?

Posted on

When you want a beautiful, Hollywood smile, it can be difficult if you have false teeth. Whether you have full dentures or a bridge, those artificial teeth won't whiten like your natural teeth. Luckily, there are some other options available. Here are some different methods for whitening your false teeth.

Use a Denture Cleaner

Denture cleaning products are not only there to clean the dentures and help reduce bacteria, but also to whiten the teeth. Some denture cleaning products sold in stores are meant specifically for whitening and bleaching the false teeth, so that is a good place to start. There are different types of cleaning products for the dentures, from overnight soaks to cleaning products you use to scrub the dentures with a soft toothbrush. Use these on a regular basis and your dentures will be much whiter.

Baking Soda and Peroxide

These are two natural ingredients you probably already have at home that works great at cleaning and whitening false teeth. You can use each one on their own or combine them to make a paste and clean the dentures. Hydrogen peroxide is an excellent way to whiten the dentures while also removing food particles from them. Simply coat the false teeth with the peroxide and rub into the teeth with your hands. If you want to make a paste, add a few drops of peroxide to the baking soda and mix well. Brush the paste onto the dentures, brushing them and rinsing as you normally would.

Try an Ultrasonic Denture Cleaner

If you have a little more money to spend, you can invest in an ultrasonic cleaner for your dentures. Of course, this will only work for false teeth that are removable. If you have a fixed bridge, you will only be able to use one of the other whitening options. With partial or false dentures, you simply place them into the machine and press a button. The cleaner gets the dentures as clean and white as possible. You will place the dentures in the cleaner whenever you want to soak them while the ultrasonic does its magic. It is an easy and effective way to always have pearly whites.

Talk to a local cosmetic dentist if you are concerned about the shade of your false teeth. You might be able to replace them for a new set to start fresh with bright, white dentures. They can also help you with getting whiter fixed dentures or bridges.
